Haunted Pittsburgh Downtown Ghost Tour – Thru Nov. 5
This spellbinding walking tour takes you into the ‘Burgh’s grisly past in the heart of downtown, while the ever-popular Incline Ghost Tour ventures to the top of Mount Washington and guarantees you’ll never view this scenic neighborhood quite the same way again! The tours delve into Pittsburgh’s rich history and unearth forgotten tales about some of the city’s most prominent residents. Owl-o-Ween – Oct. 22 & 29
Visit the Pittsburgh National Aviary for a fun annual fall harvest festival and some spooky trick-or-treat fun! Attendees are encouraged (but not required) to wear a costume to the event, which also offers candy, crafts and a creepy crawly bug race. The event will also feature close encounters, as well as photo opportunities, with raptors, owls and a variety of other night creatures. For more information, call 412-323-7235. Halloween Bash Sleepover, Oct 28
Designed for children and adults ages 6 years and older, the special Halloween Bash Sleepover at the Carnegie Science Center is brimming with witches, goblins and ghosts! Wear your favorite costume and discover the science behind Halloween by experimenting with candy, making a flying ghost and concocting ghoulish potions. Haunted History Walking Tour, Oct. 29
Join staff members of Point State Park and the Fort Pitt Museum for a haunted history walking tour of Point State Park in downtown Pittsburgh. The tour includes the rich history of the Point and specially-themed stories of mystery and mayhem associated with the site. Participants have to walk less than one mile. ZooBoo, Oct. 22-23 & 29-30
The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium will host ZooBoo, a fun opportunity for trick or treaters to collect candy as they venture through the Zoo. Animals will also get special Halloween treats, and there will be special fall-themed activities to enjoy at every turn. Visit the no-so-haunted house and conjure up a fun disguise for the costume contest, or join the Zoo Crew for a special Halloween parade around the islands at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Where to Dine: Osteria 2350.
