Laura Osnes

The Birdland Theater
315 W 44th Street, (212) 581-3080
Tuesday March 26 through Saturday March 30

I can't even imagine a moment, far in the future, when Laura Osnes will no longer be the youngest, perkiest, sweetest, prettiest, and most talented ingenue on the great white way. For this current show, she makes a point of not explicitly planning everything in advance, but rather asks the audience to write down requests, numbers from her many shows and albums - from Bonnie and Clyde to Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella and South Pacific, which she then picks randomly out of a hat. She titles her show “Repertoire Roulette!” but I would call it “A Hatful of Dreams.” (PS: spoiler alert, my choice is going to be Randy Newman's "When She Loved Me" - assuming she can read my handwriting.)
