The Highlands neighborhood is so named because because it sits atop a ridge between the middle and south forks of Beargrass Creek. The center of activity is focused along a three mile stretch of Bardstown Road that starts at the intersection of E. Broadway and Barrett Ave just a few blocks east of downtown Louisville and runs south to Taylorsville Road.
