Also known locally as “Murray Hill” or simply “the Hill,” Little Italy is a colorful ethnic enclave that serves as the hub of Cleveland’s Italian American community. This area is known for its many culinary, historic and cultural sites, Little Italy’s most popular attractions are definitely its many restaurants, bakeries and pizzerias. A variety of art galleries and locally owned boutiques also help to complete the community’s personality. The annual four-day Feast of the Assumption in August is Little Italy’s most popular event, followed by the city’s annual Columbus Day Parade, held each October. Annual Art Walks are held in June. The annual Taste of Little Italy is unforgettable and for those inclined, an annual Bocce Tournament ia also held.
Most of Little Italy’s great restaurants and shops are located along Mayfield Rd. very close to University Circle just a little more than four miles from downtowwn.
