Montgomery ☆ Add to Trip Planner
Originally settled in 1796, Montgomery was a coach stop on the Cincinnati-Zanesville Road, later known as the Montgomery Pike, with an inn, two taverns, a grist mill and a carding mill to process its agricultural products.
In the 1960’s, Montgomery started to become an affluent bedroom community for people working in Cincinnati. The city has retained its historic downtown with many other 19th-century houses scattered throughout the community. It is only 10 minutes north of downtown Cincinnati and near the Blue Ash and Kenwood communities.Eight Montgomery landmarks are registered with the National Register of Historic Places.
Downtown Montgomery features many high end retail boutiques, jewelers, restaurants and home furnishing showrooms in a very clean, safe and quiet environment. You’ll find it very enjoyable to spend the afternoon walking from shop to shop, visiting with the boutique owners and finishing the day with a meal from one of the city’s authentic independent restaurants.
Montgomery is a very essential part of the personality of Cincinnati and a convenient, short ride from any part of town.
