The holidays might be behind us, but the New Year is just getting started in the Queen City and 2017 promises to bring a wide variety of exciting events to Cincinnati each month. Here’s our selection of the top events in Cincinnati for January 2017:

Bob Weir and the Campfire Band / Jan 12
Come see legendary rocker and founder of the Grateful Dead Bob Weir perform at the Aronoff Center for the Arts' Procter & Gamble Hall.

Picturing the West: Masterworks of 19th Century Landscape Photography / Thru Jan. 15
Head over to Cincinnati’s Taft Museum of Art and peruse 41 stunning images of America’s untamed territory as the population of American settlers on the Western frontier grew rapidly during the second half of the 19th century.

Holiday Toy Trains / Thru Jan 15
The holiday season isn’t quite over yet at the Behringer-Crawford Museum, which is still hosting a holiday toy train layout featuring Lionel trains and Plasticville, with more than 250 feet of track. Patrons are welcome to operate more than three dozen accessories.

Garth Brooks World Tour / Jan 28
Come see one of country music’s biggest stars of all time perform a one-night-only show at Cincinnati's US Bank Arena!

Zanele Muholi: Personae / Thru Jan. 21
Presented by the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, this unique exhibit explores the concept of identity through two different bodies of work, “Faces” and “Phases,” which includes more than 300 images and documents the lives of black South African Women who are exploring their sexuality.

U.S. Bank Ice Rink / Thru Feb. 19
Don’t miss out on this classic wintertime experience! There’s still plenty of time to enjoy ice skating for children and adults at Cincinnati’s historic Fountain Square. Also offering skating lessons, family skate times and other special events, such as radio skate and throwback skate.

The Beach Mountain / Thru March 5
The beach in winter? Between now and March 5 that’s exactly what’s going on at The Beach Waterpark, which is open for snow tubing through early March. Ride down a 400-foot-long run, then take a moving carpet back to the top. Features 10 lanes and sessions are two hours each.

Seahorses: Unbridled Fun / Thru March 31
This new, interactive exhibit features 10 species of seahorses, sea dragons and pipefish at the Newport Aquarium. Designed to provide a variety of hands-on activities and fun for the whole family.

Vikings: Beyond the Legend / Thru April 2
Presented in collaboration with The Swedish History Museum by the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal, this engaging exhibit incorporates the latest archaeological finds and a wide variety of original artifacts to update the public’s perception of Vikings.
